The end of the war signalled new opportunities. Mun Sen became a prolific artist and exhibited widely in Singapore and across Malaya. Mun Sen became well-known through his exhibitions not only in Malaya and Singapore but also through foreign contacts in Britain, U.S.A. and Australia. In 1947, it was reported that 7 of Munsen's works were exhibited in the Cleveland Students Poster Art Exhibition and an Art Museum at Cleveland.

An exhibition of Mun Sen's watercolour paintings were featured at the Victoria Memorial Hall from 14-17 July 1947. In an article by the Morning Tribune, it is mentioned that most of the works were paintings of the fishing village of Tokong. 2 sets of photographs from the British Landscapes of Public relations were also featured during the exhibition.

On 11 October 1947, Nanyang Siang Pau (南洋商报) reported that Yong Mun Sen held a solo exhibition at a community centre along Tai Ping Oriental Street (太平東方街公共聨絡部氏聚館), displaying more than 100 paintings.
