1927 expanded
Mun Sen moved his studio to 164-166, Penang Road and renamed it as Mun Sen Studio 曼生美術館. While the move to Penang road is often dated to 1930, a newspaper advertisement from November 1927 suggests that Mun Sen Studio was already set up earlier. This also suggests that postwar accounts of dates and locations obtained primarily through recollections are sometimes unreliable and need to be cross-checked. According to interview with members of the first family, one lot served as his gallery, while the second one was his photo studio. Mun Sen's wife, Lam Sek Foong, is remembered to be the one in charge of sales and operations.
